My hand is cramped and I have a blister forming just below my thumb from stuffing and writing. I was up til 2:00 in the morning Friday night working on my newsletter (NEVER use Word Newsletter wizard. Please. Just trust me.)
Support raising is FUN!!
On a more serious note, if you are reading this blog, there is a good chance one of these newsletters I worked oh, so hard on is coming your way. I hope you will enjoy reading about what God is doing in my life. And then there will be this little green box on the back side that says something like this:

As
most of you know, my role as an AIM staff member includes surrounding myself
with a support network to come alongside me in the furthering of His Kingdom
and what He is doing at AIM. This
includes raising 100 % of my financial support. I want to thank each person who has sown into my ministry with AIM thus
far. I could not be here without each
one of you!
I
am still in need of monthly supporters to partner with me in prayer and
finances to meet my goal of $1500
a month. This goal allows me to meet all
of my financial commitments comfortably, while still maintaining the simple
lifestyle I desire to lead. I currently
have about $210
dollars coming in monthly, with some one time gifts. Would you pray about
joining my support network? I calculated
if everyone I sent this letter out to gave up fast food or Starbucks once a
week and put that money towards my ministry at AIM, my support goal would be
met. I ask you to pray and give as the
Lord leads. Enclosed you
will find a support card and return envelope. Thank you for allowing the Lord to speak to you and for responding when
He calls.
And I really hope you will. Ask the Lord to speak to you about this very topic and respond as He leads. Because, honestly, I can’t do this without you. Without the Body. He has put me in this place of dependence and I have gone from kicking and screaming my way through it (I don’t WANT TO write/call/have that conversation with that person and ask them to support me. Come, on God, can’t you just blast the thought into their head all on your own?? Sure you can…..) to a place of eerie confidence-in the Lord, but also in what I am doing. The enemy would love for me to cower or feel shame every time I mention support to you. “Why don’t you get a real job?” “Are you going to live off other people the rest of your life?” And the truth…
Yep. I probably am.
Because this is what God has called me to. This is how He has asked me to further His Kingdom. To be His hands and feet. And I walk in full confidence that He truly is Jehovah Jireh and that He WILL meet all of my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. So, I don’t ask you to give me money. I ask you to examine my life, what God is doing in and through me, and ask yourself-do I want to be apart of that? I would love you to be. But only if He is prompting you. Only if He leads. Because He is more than enough for me. And those He sends my way will be, too.
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
